Provence fragrances in a miracle
As a reviewer of the "Summit" guide, I get to visit quite a few prestigious, beautiful, and expensive B&Bs. But there are some virtuous individuals among them who manage to touch me personally and make me want to visit them again - and this time, not on duty.
"Scents of Provence" - a new B&B in the settlement of Had Ness, managed to "screw" itself into my list of favorites with surprising ease.
So what do I like so much here? Meticulous, elegant and graceful European design, endearing personality of the hosts, spacious swimming pool, private jacuzzi-spa, treats and surprises that await guests, and above all - a floating and caressing atmosphere - which I would define as "an atmosphere with a soul".
Zimmer "Scents of Provence" includes two charming stone suites with private gardens, a well-kept courtyard made of basalt stones with a fountain and an olive tree in the center and a beautiful pool complex.
The identically designed "Olive" and "Vine" suites evoke in me a feeling of inexplicable nostalgia. As a girl I was "addicted" to romantic French literature by Flaubert and Balzac and since then I have a "weakness" for places that remind of scenes from classic novels. Here, in the rooms decorated in the European style of "Scents of Provence" I imagined the tender Madame Bovary giving herself to uncontrollable passions... Well, to "translate" my feelings into words, please allow me to return to reality:
The hosts Iris and Shuki, who designed the suites themselves, were inspired by the Provence style, which is characterized by romantic accents that are expressed in soft and particularly relaxing lighting created by a combination of natural light during the day or candle flame at night, the light emanating from the classic chandeliers, the cream color that dominates the walls, the furniture and the curtains.
The suites are decorated with taste and refinement, but at the same time they are rich in non-standard decorative elements such as classic pictures that have undergone an amusing "renovation" and decorated with sparkling three-dimensional accents or a vase for artificial flowers in the shape of a convex triangle that stands on the dining table made of a sculpted frame and emitting wooden beads. And pay attention to the antique leather chairs (in the "Vine") - a delight to the eyes of design lovers like me.
The units in "Scents of Provence" are visually divided into two spaces - a living room and a bedroom, with the connection between the two being made by a transition corner - where a make-up corner is located that includes a round mirror and a shelf in a matching style. The central space contains the decorated wooden kitchen cabinet with beautifully designed utensils. You will find there a coffee machine and a kettle - which looks just like the kettles of old. A shelf cabinet hanging on the wall above the kitchen cabinet offers refreshments to guests and also serves as a stand for art objects.
The living room corner boasts antique-style leather-backed armchairs, matching "dooms" for maximum comfort, and a low wooden table. In front of them - a large LCD screen. Other furniture details in this space - a dining area, a fancy fireplace made of cast iron and serving tables for tea and wine.
The other space, which I would call "the hall of romance": on the tempting wooden bed with an orthopedic mattress and white lace sheets you will find red roses. A spacious jacuzzi decorated with a glass strip with dried flowers surrounded by plenty of lighted candles. A curtain set including a blackout curtain adorns the window next to the bed and completes the sensual atmosphere. Here you will also find a wooden wardrobe with a designed door and another LCD screen located in front of the bed.
The bathroom of the suites is particularly high-quality and comfortable, with a shower with a large rainfall head, a wide mirror along the wall and plenty of pampering massages for body care.
The closed courtyard of the suite offers a pergola for shading and a bamboo fence for separation and isolation. The yard is a kingdom in itself. Here you will find a huge jacuzzi-spa, another dining area, sitting areas, a green lawn and plenty of potted plants.
In conclusion , I will tell you (in secret) that the owners of the guesthouse are particularly talented cooks and you should order a meat or fish dinner from them (Shoki's specialty). And before I say goodbye to you, I will quote the words of Iris that were said in my conversation with you: "We established the place with a lot of soul and a great love for hospitality. Our guests never cease to be excited and we never cease to surprise because their joy is a great gift to ourselves."
