Miri and Yoav, owners of the deluxe B&B vacation rentals Laga'at Banof on Ma'ale Gamle, claim that their vacation rentals are simply enchanted. Otherwise, how can one explain the fact that in two of their country cottages, so many women have received marriage proposals from their boyfriends? Our website reviewer, who, out of duty, transformed herself into an investigative reporter, set out on her mission: to analyze the romantic karma of these vacation rentals, to "touch the landscape" and to discover just why the question "Will you marry me?" sounds so tempting and irresistable there.
Do you believe in mystical phenomena? Is it possible that there are places with a mysterious spiritual energy that causes us - who are there - to change, to make fateful decisions, to do bold actions, to surprise ourselves?
Miri and Yoav, the owners of the B&Bs "Lagaat Benof" in Ma'ale Gamla, claim that their B&Bs are simply bewitched. Otherwise, how can one explain the fact that it was there, in the two rural holiday cabins, that so many women received marriage proposals from their spouses? I, who for that matter became an "investigative journalist" set out on a mission: to decipher the romantic "karma" of these B&Bs, "to touch their landscape" and find out why the question "will you marry me?" Sounds so demanding and tempting.
As soon as I got out of the car, I was captivated by the wild nature of the southern Golan Heights: the open spaces, the picturesque views, the fresh air - and as I stood there, breathing, feeling how my body was filled with vital and youthful energy, renewed by the forces of joy and lightness, I closed my eyes, while trying to "absorb" as much of it as possible so that I could take it home...
My visit to the B&B "Touch the View" begins in the northern cabin (the cabin that boasts a spectacular view), where I am shown Miri (the belief in hospitality) and Yoav the guest book of the cabin. Beyond the touching words of the many words of thanks and compliments in the book, I was touched by the loving attitude of Miri and Yoav to their guests - I guessed in them caring, consideration and giving - the secret that turns a guesthouse into a romantic refuge for lovers. Phase I of the investigation is over - I understood very well who and what the hosts are...
The cabin itself charmed me as much as its owner. In a rounded wooden structure, open to the view - there is nothing to do - just feel comfortable. The spacious space exudes intimacy and seems to invite the guest couples to curl up together on the low benches between soft and pleasant ethnic pillows, to relax in the round jacuzzi, surrounded by the windows overlooking a panoramic view and lit by candles scattered around... to hug on the luxurious bed, dressed in black and white.
The morning after - I already imagined the meeting of lovers around the bar, in the kitchen, over a cup of coffee or a fine espresso... and in the late morning there is, of course, an adjustable plasma screen, which can be rotated to any possible angle in the cabin. There is nothing like a good movie with clasped hands that are traveling to them. Yes, you can also pause the movie for a moment or two...
The bathroom is built of stone, and you will find a spacious shower with a large rain head that guarantees an experience of relaxation and rejuvenation...
The special charm of the place is also expressed in the lighting and the matching of colors: the relaxing and pleasant shades of brown and orange that dominate the cabin combine with the whiteness of the bed and the jacuzzi, thus creating a warm, intimate, connecting atmosphere.
The southern cabin is designed in the same way but there are significant differences: the structure, made in the shape of a square, is different and conveys a feeling of freedom and space. This is the cabin for people who like an open and spacious space. And when you go outside - to the wooden balcony, sit on rough wooden armchairs around the table, sip delicious wine from the Golan Heights, indulge in the numerous refreshments, enjoy the smells and colors of the beautiful plants around - the world becomes simply perfect...
Between the two cabins stretches a beautiful garden with a green lawn in the center and around it - a cheerful celebration of colors and smells, a spectacular display of flowers, herbs, shrubs and trees. It is important to note that the separation between the two cabins is not yet complete (the hosts are working on it), and the parking lot also remains (for now) exposed to the eyes of vacationers. In the summer there is a bonus: free entry to the pool in Had Ness.
The investigation is over. The understanding is perfect: there are optimal conditions here for the creation of intimacy between the couple. There are attentive hosts and refreshments here that will pamper you and leave you wanting more. Here are all the necessary components for the perfect proposal, in perfect B&Bs nestled in a perfect landscape. Have I discovered exactly what the charm of B&Bs "to touch the landscape" is? Unfortunately, I cannot answer your question. You will have to find out for yourself. I, personally, am already busy preparing a particularly romantic marriage proposal for my partner...
View: in the northern cabin - overlooking El Kedumim, a view of Mount Hermon and the northern Golan Mountains, a well-tended garden with intimate seating areas and a pastoral environment
