Beautiful organic mud huts
"A simple story" is a place that brings you to the understanding that all beautiful things should start from creating something you love. It's impossible to describe this place otherwise: the construction in mud, the niches, the recycling, the good energy. If we add to the interest the multitude of treats and the impressive view, you will understand why I came out a "captive" of this place.
I visit quite a few B&Bs, some of them are very magical, and every time I think I've seen it all, I get a surprise. When I entered "a simple story" I realized that everything I would describe here would be a bit "dry" compared to the magical reality.
Dina led me to the cabin down the stepped path covered with earthen plaster, the material from which the only two cabins in the complex are built. The stairs are made of tires that are also wrapped in the material. Dina explains that during the construction process, no soil was brought in and no waste was taken out, based on the principle of trying to have as little impact on the environment as possible.
The units are relatively close to the host's house, and are about 20 meters apart, but a dense forest provides excellent privacy.
The entrance to the cabin (the cabins are matching) is through a huge balcony that sits "on" the natural forest and so that you don't fall, enclose it with a railing made of the same branches that were taken down to make room for the construction of the cabin. From the balcony you can see the upper tributaries of Nahal Batsat and at sunset it's worth looking to the east where you can see them at the height of their glory and power.
The outer shell of the huts is built of small stones that have been collected and placed stone on stone creating a vertical mosaic. A layer of thermal insulation was placed between this shell and the soil plaster covering the interior of the cabin, which results in energy savings in heating/cooling. Two large round windows are in the upper part of the ceiling allowing the warm air to escape in the summer, and the sun to penetrate in the winter.
The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing food on site. There is also a wood fireplace for heating with a basket full of logs for burning. There is also a huge jacuzzi with windows overlooking the green landscape.
Sometimes the simplest stories are the best.
What’s on the site?
We prepare the refreshments in the cabin from what grows in the garden and the orchard - fresh eggs that you can collect (if you have already laid them) in the tiny coop, organic jams from the fruit of the orchard, homemade cookies, coffee liqueur, a well-equipped coffee corner, seasonal fruits and milk.
