A most successful combination: a lovingly preserved piece of history alongside quality hospitality, woven by the appropriate hands. On pastoral Nachlat Moshe, which looks out over the Golan mountains and Emek Eyun, where you feel like you've travelled overseas, it was important to your host, Zippi, to maintain the authenticity of the location. Nachlat Moshe is a piece of history, preserved in love, memories and stories of pioneering farmers. The suites were designed with the inspiration of the original, ancient stone wall surrounding old Metula, and they have been situated next to an authentic, 100 year-old wall, which frames the luxurious vacation rental from the back. A rich past, a modern design, state-of-the-art facilities and the most wonderful truffles…

Go back three years. I'm sitting in the office where I worked in Tel Aviv, trying to explain to a friend where the hell Emek Hula is. I think he asked if it was near Haifa, and then I realized - from his point of view and from the point of view of most of my fellow Tel Avivians/ Herzlians/ Ramat Ganim - everything after Hadera is the far north. That means Karmiel is southern Lebanon. Hula? There are swamps there, aren't they?...
'How will I explain to them where Metula is?' I ask myself as I climb towards 'Nachlat Moshe'.
Let's start with the fact that, at least technically, Metula is the closest to Europe in Israel. And it's not just technical. The northern landscape and the weather also help suppress the fact that somewhere in the center there is Israel with air pollution, 200% humidity and people honking at you if you go below 130 km/h.
I go 5 km/h up a palm tree-lined access road and park at the foot of two cute houses with stones integrated into their walls. Tzipi, the hostess, explains to me that the inspiration came from the stone wall that surrounded Metula a year ago, and now stands behind the B&B.
The guest house is beyond the wall, so you don't feel them, and an entrance balcony in the unit provides reasonable privacy for morning coffee. Inside is a small and nice living room adjacent to the kitchenette and a bedroom with a jacuzzi. There are high ceilings and a lot of air here, but that's not the main thing.
The main thing is one of the most charming itineraries in Israel, which starts right, but right at the door of the B&B. I bet you that you haven't been to Nahal Eyon since that annual trip in the 4th grade, when you were drawn to Hila / Orit / Michal in the braid, and you don't understand how beautiful it is there. 5 d walk from the B&B and you are in a stream that really doesn't seem to belong to our psychic reality. Coordination with Tzipi and she will take care of collection from the end point. It's all two hours of walking at a turtle's pace, and you have a lot of things to tell the guys at the office...
So maybe Metula sounds a bit 'hole', but apart from a view and quiet, everything is here, literally a meter from the B&B (including a street with restaurants and cafes that again reminds a bit of Europe). Chutsamza, for you Haifa is also a hole, so at least it should be beautiful...
