A bit about theB&B

A loft-style structure with a particularly high ceiling and a wall of windows overlooking the magnificent view.  The Royal Suite has a canopy bed on a wooden platform, an antique-style livingroom furnished with a collection of restored furniture, and an English country-style kitchen.

We liked it
Exceptional original design, with plenty of restored furniture details. Unique and expansive view overlooking Mount Hermon, Mount Dov, the Hula Valley and the spectacular sunsets of the sea (when visibility is good).
We noticed that
It's hard to find places to hang out in the immediate vicinity (but who comes here for that?)

This amazing place demands a different approach. The Wind-Moving Castles are a one-off creation, a brilliant invention of people with great talent and thinking "outside the box". The ultimate combination of inspiration, imagination and fruitful, skilled and intelligent work.


Location and ambience

These castles are on the roof of the world, or at least on the roof of Israel - in Nimrod, not far from Mount Hermon. So it's true, when you go as far as a 'hole' like that, it's hard to expect an explosion to be open 24 hours a day under the house, and it's better not to build on entertainment venues in the immediate radius. But if the noise of our reality has gotten to you 'this far' and you need to ventilate a bit - you can find an inspired mix of styles here, rough wooden floors, stylish vintage furniture and tons of creativity.

I am a native of the area and have passed through the area many times, and yet – nothing can prepare you for the stunning view you get here at an altitude of 1115m. In one frame you get a flattering close-up of Mount Hermon, the Golan Heights, the Hula Valley and the Lebanon Mountains, and the view is endless. Both units are located at a distance that allows for privacy, and the guesthouse does not interfere with the experience.


What does the place include

The 'Roof of the World' unit looks like a castle straight out of a Salvador Dali painting, the 'Rain Bell' is probably the world's most magnificent incarnation of a building that was once a sheepfold, and the 'Lake Keeper', as its name suggests, keeps an eye on the blue eye of Rama - a blessing from Ram.

They all have an inspired mix of styles, rough wooden floors, stylish vintage furniture and tons of creativity. They all have a jacuzzi, a fireplace that makes you feel like it's already snowing and huge windows that make the view present at every moment, but each of them has original little surprises that make a big difference.

Points worth noting: The "Roof of the World" has partial privacy on the balcony, as it sits on the view at the front of the complex, and the "Rain Bell" has a regular outdoor hot tub (not a spa), located in a separate building, also right on the view. In winter, it's a bit hard to say goodbye to the fireplace, but we recommend that you get a thick robe and some courage, and go out there.



You should know

There are endless trips you can take from here - Birkat Ram, Mount Hermon, Kalat Nimrod, authentic food in Majdal Shams, and more. In season - go cherry picking yourself.

We left with a feeling of

You are going to stand open-mouthed in front of three surrealist buildings that are amazingly beautiful, standing in silent peace in front of Mount Hermon, very close to it.

We stayed in the rain bell suite and it was a unique experience. Nice and pleasant hosts, amazing and pampering design. Everything was really great. The shower in this B&B is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. It is highly recommended

To be and feel on top of the world

As die-hard B&B enthusiasts, we've been through quite a few of these, but this one definitely made it to the top of the list. Beyond the open and breathtaking view, as soon as you enter the B&B you are enveloped by the feeling of entering a romantic fairy tale. The antique armchairs (arrived from France, more than a hundred years old!), the large curtains on the sides of the huge windows to the open view, small oriental sculptures, a cabinet with various charming tea sets, green flower pots in urns... lots of small details that add up to a whole that just makes a feeling of magic, the kind The pleasant and enveloping... there are quite a few high-quality videos that put you in a particularly good mood, there are bookshelves that include books on thought, change, consciousness, landscapes, and also the Kama Sutra... there is an especially pampering jacuzzi of such a size that you can literally lie next to each other The second and straighten your legs!! And it is highly recommended to take a dip at sunset in front of the view, an unforgettable experience. The living room is small and intimate, consisting of the French seating system - a double plus and two single armchairs, all of which give a particularly noble royal feeling, and the open view completes the space with a feeling of inventions in the air, with open skies, right as the bird's eye view. The luxurious bed sunk into a wooden platform is in the upper gallery, where there are also curtains, pillows, romantic dressers, and also a TV (less important, but pleasant). Since the wall is actually a huge window, lying in bed has a direct view of the view, which is wonderful. There were also treats waiting for us - cookies, crackers, cola and beer in the fridge, excellent wine and cheeses and more... Happily, we also got to meet one of the couple who created this magic, Gilad, a particularly charming man, who actually founded Nimrod themselves, and designed and built the B&Bs together their creative hands. A perfect experience. If by chance there is a particularly stubborn dog barking under the window, don't wait and call Gilad immediately. We will definitely be back to check out the other two B&Bs and the breakfast which should be great value. Thank you Gilad for giving us this dream place.

what fun it was

First of all, Nimrod is an amazing place - what a view.. what isolation.. what a spirit..
And the cabin - so pampering. Wood fireplace is fun, all the heat goes up to the second floor and straight to the bed.
A huge jacuzzi, a beautiful and elaborate breakfast, and more and more treats. The perfect experience I can dream of in a B&B!

big disappointment
Well the gap between the photos and the place itself and the level of cleanliness and service is simply indescribable, the host didn't even come to say hello. The place is in terrible maintenance, scale in the shower, broken sink, exposed electricity, dirty windows. Maybe the expectation to get something similar to the pictures is an exaggerated view in Israel, but it's just a scam for a lot of money!

Highly recommended B&B! The best we have been to. The place is breathtaking, both the view and the suite itself. Gilad is an exemplary latecomer, pleasant, attentive, kind and hospitable. Just an experience!

Not going back
The host (Gilad) is very nice; The bread he bakes in the mornings and the breakfast served are simply excellent. But the level of maintenance of the unit is very poor and on two of the three nights we spent there we were visited by some kind of rodent (probably from the outside) who simply gnawed a part of the wood at the base of the B&B in a way that made it impossible to sleep and of course scared one of our children.
