So it was really hot and there were a lot of stairs. We even made a mistake and went down in the wrong gram, so we had to go up again. This is how it is in Ein Kerem - an amazingly beautiful neighborhood, with a rustic character and old stone buildings located on green slopes. This character attracted here an interesting population of artists, freelancers and an affluent population. Due to its beauty and its proximity to points of interest that attract guests from all over the world, the neighborhood has become a magnet in the tourist field with accommodations, cafes, restaurants and galleries. Okay, so what happened when we finally got to the top of the stairs? And why did we have to bend down in front of the bed?!...
Location - close but quiet and private The "Nest" suite is located a 2-minute walk from the heart of the neighborhood, thus allowing you to have some quiet and a lot of privacy - but still close to the center of things.
The stairs from the road go up to a narrow alley "with a section" that leads to the courtyard of the suite which has a natural, authentic character and offers a lot of privacy, peace and quiet. This is not some sweet and cold garden, but a place that radiates a lot of warmth, just like the spirit of the place. Although it is a residential neighborhood, the privacy here is completely complete and the distance from the road provides the peace required for the couple's space. The hosts, about whom I will expand immediately, live on the upper level above the suite and are accessible for any request.
The suite - a sleeping space with a hammock and lots of character "The nest" does give such a feeling, which cradles you. Such a daydream. This is a single, spacious suite, designed to a very high standard with a lot of attention to the old stone and the spirit of the time, but with quality and aesthetic cleanliness that are connected to the present (the work on it was completed in 2014). The suite is mainly suitable for couples but it can accommodate up to 6 people.
A beautiful wooden door leads us inside. The bedroom is housed in a 150-year-old stone space that has been lovingly restored. The entrance to it is through a beautiful and rather low arch, so tall people have to bend carefully. When you enter it, the feeling you get is very enveloping and pleasant. Movie fans also have a television nearby.
The central space contains a fully equipped and spacious kitchen, a living room with a TV and a vintage dining table. There is also a small space with a writing desk, a wardrobe with robes and towels, a bathroom with a large shower and a washing machine for guests who arrive for a long time.
The design, aesthetics and attention are also reflected in the special floor tiles, the books scattered throughout the suite and the meticulous cleanliness (Amit says that only she cleans and it takes her more than 3 hours). The fruit basket that awaits the guests was picked in most cases especially from the fruit trees in the area. The mini bar has beers and wine (extra charge) and the breakfast we think is a significant part of the hospitality experience here. Spa treatments can be ordered on site.
The hosts - with an artistic approach, and attentive hospitality Amit, the hostess, was waiting for me with a smile upstairs, up the stairs of the alley. She took us to see the suite and immediately invited us to her home. As befits a professional hostess, she understood our situation and made a natural iced tea that gave an excellent match to the Jerusalem heat. During the conversation she said that she deals with art, painting and sculpture and that her partner Roy is an ambitious filmmaker who specializes in documentaries. It pretty much explained to me where this suite got all its character and aesthetics. For me it was really refreshing to meet young, professional hosts who really pay attention to details.
In conclusion: We were happy to discover a place that matches the hospitality approach we represent. We are happy to recommend it because it combines the best of all worlds - the old, the new, the touristic, the artistic and the personal. "The Nest" is a very high quality solution for a romantic vacation in the heart of Ein Kerem.
